Reepham Bungalow Lake

First of all I would like to thank Chris Tims (Photoworx) for donating the framed picture of junior member Mason Cutting for winning overall in the junior matches 2025/26. Well done Mason.

Today’s match was at Reepham, a pre season warm up before the start of the new season.

I say warm up it was more of a cooking session at 29 degrees!

However Matty was outright winner with 131lb 06oz

Colin came second with 100lb 14 oz

Many thanks for all who attended the scorcher

This years Evening Series kicks off at the lake next Wednesday 3rd June – Draw 5pm fish 6pm to 9pm all members welcome to come along and fish. Series of 5 evening matches (all Wednesdays) series decided on total weight. Plenty of fish and plenty of banter!

Winter League 8

So, I have to ask the question about the sanity of fishermen generally, and of these 9 individuals in particular…….. with matches being cancelled locally DUE TO THE WEATHER, we have 9 hardy(stupid) souls turnout to fish the match. The day started with rain and then went downhill from there (see pictures)…..

Chumba found a few as usual and ran away with the match from end peg 2 putting 12lb 14oz of pinkie caught silvers on the scales.

Colin Blackburn on peg 28 had a few roach for 1lb 6oz and second place this week followed by Dan Warman on peg 27 with slightly fewer roach and 9oz for third.

The remainder of the field did not weigh AGAIN! What is going on this year???

So Chumba takes a healthy lead in the winter league with only 1 match to go which will be on Sunday 1st March 2026 ………….see you there (it has got to be better than today!!)

Sunday 4th January 2026 – Club Lake

Silvers 3 / Winter League 5

In freezing conditions, bright sunsine but with ice forming on the lake, 6 anglers arrived to contest the match this Sunday. They all thought it would be hard going but not quite as hard as it turned out! With only 1 angler – Dave Jones – catching or even getting an indication. Dave weighed in 2 skimmers for 1lb 12oz caught on feeder tactics towards the far side but for everyone else it was the dreaded DNW……..

Next match is on the 18th January 2026 and is the pairs – let’s hope that things have improved weather wise by then and a few bites are forth coming

Also don’t forget the tree felling work begins on the 6th January 2026 and some pegs will be unavailable to fish from, the numbers of these pegs will change as the work progresses so please be aware of the situation keep away from where the work is being carried out.

The Committee would like to thank you for your cooperation and understanding whilst this work is carried out.

Winter league Week 9 – Final round

Great weather and another good turnout with 15 fishing this weeks match, which turned out to be a closely fought affair with the top 3 weights very close.

Michael Tims once again came out on top with 52lb 15oz from peg 20 he was being chased by his Dad – Chris Tims – who was on peg 17 and had 52lb 10oz for 2nd. Kelly Flood on peg 28 had a great start but had to settle for 3rd in the end with 51lb 10oz.

Sections went to Kevin Blake, Simon Harrold and Ivan Allen.

So the Winter League went down to the wire with Michael Tims just being held off by long time leader Chris Isbell who won this year by 1 point.

Winter League Week 8

Michael Tims with some of his 58lb 2oz winning weight

A dry day was forecast but with a chilly northeasterly wind no one was sure how the lake was going to fish. The answer was very well for some and not quite so good for others……

Michael Tims drew peg 14 and had a good day with 7 carp and some silvers for a 58lb 2oz winning weight.

Simon Harrold was on peg 16 and had 5 carp plus silvers for 46lb 2oz for 2nd and Kelly Flood also had 5 carp, but smaller ones, on peg 24 wighing in 23lb 7oz for 3rd

Sections went to Chris Isbell, Kevin Blake & Bob Isbell

The Winter league finishes with next weeks match on Easter Sunday (9th April) . Long time leader, Chris Isbell, looks to be untouchable in 1st place but 2nd and 3rd places will go down to the wire and be decided by next weeks result.

Here’s hoping for a slightly warmer day and a good close match – see you there……..
