12/05/2020 Although the lake will be open from tomorrow there are some restrictions in place in order to conform to fishing guidelines. Certain pegs are closed off to ensure there is sufficient distance between anglers whilst fishing, members must take responsibility to use hand sanitisers and to keep at least 2 meters away from other anglers. The toilet remains open but please use the sanitisers that are available. Members must realise that social life as we knew it has changed and new ways of practice must be adopted to prevent spreading the virus and avoiding a second wave which could lead to another long period of lake closure. Please keep fishing sessions to a reasonable period in order to allow other members a fair share of the daylight hours. Keep a watch on the website for updates.

11/05/2020 The lake will be open for fishing on Wednesday 13th May.  Please read the notices attached to the gates and adhere to the content, and in particular the need to maintain a distance of 2 meters between anglers. No congregating in the car park or club house and please use hand sanitiser when entering and leaving the lake, especially after locking the gate. It is important all members follow these guidelines so we may continue to enjoy our sport otherwise we may experience another long period of lake closure.

01/05/2020 Our Chairman Kelly Flood has decided to cancel the A.G.M for 2019-20 A.G.M, it will be incorporated within the 2020/21A.G.M. which we hope will be able take place in April next year. Meanwhile Committee Members will continue to serve in their current roles, the only change will be that of  Tracey Bean who will become our Club Secretary on 01/01/2021, Keith Morley will adopt the role of Assistant Club Secretary.

31/03/2020 NOTICE CONCERNING CORONAVIRUS – THE LAKE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We are making every effort to ensure the fish are fed during this period.

29/09/2019 We now have a ‘For Sale and or /Exchange’ board sited in the club house. Members are requested to remove notices when items are sold and or exchanged so the board does not become cluttered. The club does not accept any responsibility for any items sold or exchanged.

14/09/2019 The numbers of members attending matches has increased over the last few months and therefore Martin Meek our Match Secretary has requested that an assistant be appointed, Thomas Stewart has volunteered for this role, therefore from immediate effect he has been appointed acting Assistant Match Secretary.

06/08/2019  CONGRATULATIONS to one of our junior members Lydia Bean who at 13 fished her first match at the club lake, Lydia attends Aylsham High School and is keeping the long standing family fishing tradition up. Lydia drew peg 29 on Sunday and had 15lb 15oz which was five weights better than some of our regular members. Lydia caught a nice common just under her PB of 10lbs.

12/05/2019  I regret to advise club members that Bob Isbell has resigned from the Committee with immediate effect, therefore his role as Match          Secretary will be taken up by Martin Meek currently our Assistant Match Secretary. Bob has been a Committee Member and Match Secretary for many years and we would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his tireless work on behalf of the club to improve and maintain a venue which all members continue to enjoy. In recognition of this and his management of the role as Match Secretary Bob was made an Honorary Member this year.

13/02/2019  Mick Challen who was associated with the club for many years has died, he was a well known character and liked by many.

05/10/2018  Roy’s funeral will be held at Cromer Crematorium on the 25th October at 2:00 p.m. then onto Cromer Golf Club.

01/10/2018  We are very sorry to learn of the death of Roy Turton on the 30th September following a long illness. Despite his condition he continued                          to take part in competitions until very recently, he will be sadly missed both as an angler and moreover as the Club Secretary for 24 years.

12/07/2018   We now have club clothing available for purchase. Full Zip Hoodies at £26:00, Standard Hoodie at £23:00 and Polo shirts at £18:00. All      are embroidered with the Kingfisher logo, to order please contact Martin Meek on 07376076545.

18/05/2018      All members must carry and use a fish antiseptic. This is compulsory and part of the club rules. This should be applied to any sore areas                          on the carp and other species especially concentrating on their mouths. We need to take more care of our fish which is also for your                                benefit in the long term.

17/11/2017      The sponsored match this year raised £1056.45p. This was achieved by the 8 members who took part. Imagine what could be raised if                            more members got involved. The charity chosen this year was HAMLET. This is a Norwich based charity helping children and young                                adults who suffer from disabilities and complex health issues.

04/05/2017       Club rules forbid the use of floating baits. This applies to loose fed baits as well as hook baits. This is especially a problem with                                        bread. We do not want to encourage the carp to look for food on the surface. It also floats into other swims causing a nuisance to                                    fellow members. Please abide by the club rules. There can be consequences for breaking them. Also do not throw floating bait,                                        especially bread, into the lake when you pack up.

14/04/2017       For those casting a bomb or feeder across the lake towards the aerator please keep well away from it. It will not withstand being hit                                  by a careless cast.

24/02/2017        All platforms now have astroturf but please remember that platforms can still be slippery. Also be careful if you step off the side of                                    the platforms because the banks are soft in places. The banks have been reinforced in places and further work will be required.

24/02/2017         Please note that the astro turf on the stagings is not suitable for laying fish on and the current rule remains that fish must either be                              unhooked in the landing net suspended off the ground or on an unhooking mat.

07/06/2015         The committee have ruled that barbecues are fires and so are banned according to the club rules. The use of a gas ring or light will                              be allowed.
