Christmas Match and Winter League Wk4
Mild overcast conditions with bit of a westerly breeze were what greeted this weeks 17 competitors for the club Christmas match. Despite the mild weather the word was that the fishing had been quite hard over the past week with the lake becoming clearer as the water got colder.
James Page must have thought Santa had come early when he drew peg 29! A nice short walk to a peg full of fish (jealous! who me?). James made no mistake and caught 24 lb for 1st place. That’s 2 wins on the bounce and the silvers cup is his unless there is a mighty big weight on the next match.
Opposite James on peg 17 Ian Jones once again put a good net of silvers together despite the attentions of the carp and the barracking from Mr Meek on the next peg. Ian put 18lb 5oz on the scales for 2nd
Chris Tims had skimmers and some good roach in his 15lb 11oz net for 3rd place
Sections went to Lewis Dicken, Martin Meek, Kevin Blake and Simon Harrold
Everyone had a prize off the table as it was the Christmas match and it just remains for me to wish all Kingfishers members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
