Winter League wk5 and 3rd silvers only match
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
With a miserable weather forecast for rain all day and a fresh breeze the turnout was surpisingly good with 11 members lining up to draw.
Mark Seaman drew peg 17 and was straight into fish – 2 carp in the first two drops! however he soon adjusted his technique and began to slowly put together a string of quality silvers for an impressive (on the day) winning weight of 18lb 4oz.
Opposite Mark on peg 29 was Phil Pipe who was going well with 4 chub until he hooked a carp which destroyed his peg!!! He still was the only other angler to break double figures with 11lb 9oz for 2nd place.
Andy Dicken was on peg 19 and managed to put 6lb 15oz for 3rd place just ahead of Colin Beales with 6lb 13oz who extended his lead in the winter league to 3 clear points.

Next match on 19th Jan 2025 is the Pairs and you will all be glad to hear that Carp count again!!! let’s hope for bit better weather on the next one…..See you there…
