Summer Evening Series – Week 5
With a change from the hot weather, this weeks match, the last in the series, had the most entrants with 13 members turning up to fish. With the draw done it was down to business but with Lewis so far ahead of the rest it was really an impossible task to challenge him for the series. That wasn’t going to stop anyone trying though!
Mark Seaman on peg 15 and had a good match putting 68lb 13oz on the scales for 1st place this week. Chris Tims was on peg 19 and had 51lb 7oz for 2nd with Chris Winterbone taking 3rd place with 40lb 13oz off peg 11.
Sections went to Simon Harrold, Lewis Dicken and Torin Miles.
Lewis Dicken cruised to the Evening Series title with an outstanding aggregate weight of 283lb 5oz – well done to him. (see full results in table below)
Finally, it has been a very enjoyable and well attended series of matches with some big weights (well for Lewis anyway) with pleasant weather and plenty of banter. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lewis, Chumba and Bones for all their assistance with the weighing in and running the match last week when I was on holiday.
Don’t know what I will do next Wednesday evening…………Looking forward to next year already…………Oh, but there is the Winter League before that………..See you there…..
